Terra Cottage-Hallway & Bathroom

Kramer welcomes you all to the hallway and bathroom tour:).
We replaced both hall lights with stained glass fixtures and then added antique frames as medallions.
This wall hosts family photos, artwork, and an antique architectural header.
We often use architectural pieces as art!
In this case architectural salvage is used to frame an antique clock giving it a grander presence at the end of the hallway.
Family photos welcome all who visit:).
An ornate shelf displays the pictures.
Detail of the architectural header above the clock.
The hallway bathroom is hubby's bathroom (to see my bathroom visit http://bathtubdiary.blogspot.com/ )
The bathroom door has no lock so it's important to knock before entering:).
Stained glass is a great way to add art to bathroom walls as it holds up well to moisture.
Stained glass and architectural salvage add beauty to the window and shower curtain.
Hubby did all of the moldings, beadboard, and tile work.
Antique bottles crown the medicine cabinet.
A scrollwork light fixture dazzles the antique oak mirror.
Victorian style tilework.
This magazine rack was purchased at an auction. I added the wood applique and painted it white.
Details make a room, right down to the glass doornobs.
A clock makes sure hubby is on time each morning:).
Kramer wants to thank you for visiting.
He's off to the spare bedroom for a catnap:).

Hi Kim, I am partially done with a bathroom re-do. Three and a half weeks of hard work. I'll have to post some pics.

I love the look you've got going. Sometimes I do feel like I was born in the wrong time. I have such an affinity for Victorian times and the 20s.

Have a great week.

Such a delightful tour.
I think I shall join Kramer and perhaps find a soft bed or pillow and stay awhile.
I know the cat and dogs would be amused by my visit.

What a great bathroom with some great decorating ideas! And it has a somewhat masculine feel as well, which I'm sure your hubby really appreciates!

Beautiful hall and bathroom! I just love the way you incorporate your old architectural pieces into your life. The one surrounding the clock is so beautiful! Your husband is very handy and talented! (No offense to mine, but he can't even hit a nail with a hammer!) That glass doorknob is the same type I grew up with in my parents' 1911 bungalow in Chicago! Brings back memories. :)

Kim, Thanx for sharing the pics of the inside of your lovely home's hallway and bathroom.
I luv what you have done.
So many interesting and neat accents to enhance your place.
Seeing what others have done to decorate is a highlight to me about home interiors.
Never tire of seeing this.
Have a wonderful week and God richly bless you,

Hi Kramer!

Thanks for the tour - that was fun! Lots of very beautiful stuff in your house! So glad to know that you have your own room and a nice bed for napping! I mean with you having to do all the tours, that can be exhausting I'm sure. At least they treat you well and are good to you! Have a great week!
