Butterflies, Birds, and Bookends

Happy Memorial Day!
As we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, take time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.
May God Bless the families and friends of those who gave their lives to protect our country.
A bee takes time to enjoy the nectar of a daisy...
while a butterfly rests upon a golden bouquet.
A bird's nest snuggled amongst the branches of an oak tree,
a protective papa Cardinal keeps watch,
as the mama Cardinal feeds her young.
Red Cardinals...
Blue Jays,
and the white chest of the Red-Headed Woodpecker,
make for a patriotic bird display of nature:).
On this Memorial Day Lizzy and Calvin have found a comfy place to nap...
on opposite ends of the sofa...
creating bookends.
Time to shift to the other direction...
and the bookends are there once again!

Blessings to all this Memorial Day!

The Glories of Spring!

Spring brings many things
like tea on the porch...
digging dogs...
stick chewing...
squirrel watching!
"Did someone say squirrel?"
Kramer watches from inside.
But spring also brings glorious blooms.
Daylillies and Amarillas burst forth in bold shades of color.
Let's get up close and personal...
(you gotta love a great camera:)!
Flowers spill from an old terra cotta pot.
Please remember to pray for those whose spring has been interrupted by devestating storms.

Next week I will begin sending out invitations to all those in blogland who would like to take part in a tea party honoring Queen Victoria:)!

Be Happy!

There are so many things we can do each day to make life happy.
Keep you chin high and look to the sky!
Laugh...
laugh...
laugh!
Spend some time in the sunshine!
Be inquisitive!
Clean your plate.
Reach out to those you love:).
Spend time with those you love.
Sit like an Egyptian.
Love each other.
Mind your manners.
Reach far.
Be silly.
Take time to nap.
Grow where you are planted.
And then nap some more:).
Make the most of your situation.
Keep one eye on the ball (or in this case the camera).
Be humble.
And always remember that love is the most important thing-share some today:).
