Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!
As part of the southern tradition we had black-eyed peas, cabbage, and pork for our New Year's dinner (and rice too).
Now mind you, I am not much of a cook, or so I thought. I have been greatly inspired by the movie 'Julie & Julia' which made me want to do more cooking.
For Christmas my mother gifted me with the 1968 Life Pictorial Cookbook with recipes that I grew up eating. Tonight for the first time I prepared pork chops and they weren't dry or chewy or yucky! I found the recipe (actually in another cookbook as I have several that look lovely on the shelves but are rarely opened:) for pork in a red wine sauce and it was fabulous!
Yay!
Here is a picture of our feast:).
Calvin, Lizzy, and Kasey decided it was their turn to enjoy the feast:).
Also, this is the first post with pictures from my new camera!
As promised I am sharing some of the beautiful blooms from our roses and camillas (the last camilla is from my neighbor's camilla bush) that I took two days ago.

Happy New Year to all of my blogland buddies!

I also wanted to thank all of my blogland buddies once again for your support, encouragement, and inspiration.

You guys are the best:)!
