Queen Victoria Royal-Tea!

Although Queen Victoria's birthday is May 24th, we are celebrating today with a tea in her honor!
Since this is a 'royal-tea' event one must have fresh roses in abundance!
Born Alexandrina Victoria on May 24, 1819 she was bound for greatness.
This portrait, by S.P. Denning, shows Princess Victoria at the age of four.
She began her reign on June 20, 1837 at the young age of eighteen.
During her reign she did many great things for the poor, children, animals, family, and country.
Married to her true love, Prince Albert, on February 10, 1840 they lived a blessed life with nine children.
Sadly, on December 14, 1861, Prince Albert died leaving the Queen in mourning for the remainder of her life.
This did not prevent her from serving her people which she did with dignity and grace until her death on January 22, 1901.
In honor of such a great lady I chose the most royal looking of my tea pots.
This one looks like it has a crown.
This tea cup seems like a good match:).
Even the spout of the tea pot is bedecked with gold!
Perhaps you would like some cream with your tea?
Hand painted roses fit for a Queen:).
Even the gold trim of the cup seems regal.
Let's have some tea:).

In honor of Her Majesty Queen Victoria and all she did for those in need I will be donating items to the Red Door thrift shop which benefits our local Hospice:).

what a gorgeous tea service!!!
I love my name ~Victoria~ but not always...
when I was in school during the
50's & 60's everyone called me Vicki. When I entered the work force everyone called me Vicki...
My family FOREVER calls me Victoria. Once I turned 50 I embraced my name and prefer the proper name ~Victoria~ and I am always looking for books and movies depicting the wonderful queen... thanks for the tea party!!

I am so proud to pop over from Deanna's tea table where I had a wonderful visit and join with you and your lovelies. I would take cream and 1 sugar. She is such an interesting story and so sad in her loneliness. For some reason my list of favorites keeps dropping my favorites and I have got to figure it out. I am going to watch that movie, since I think I have not seen it. My ancestors are British and I love the history.

Kim-

Thank you for hosting your wonderful tea to honor Queen Victoria! It was a lot of fun. Your tea set is truly fit for royalty! I love the gold encrusted parts! The tea cups, with their gold trim, do complement the set well. And I loved visiting the other blogs, who also did a fabulous job with their tea posts!

Dear Kim;
Your Tea Party was enchanting. LOVED reading about Queen Victoria, and your tea service is amazing -- as the VICTORIAN Parlor should have.

I had hoped to add some of Mom's lovely collection for the day, unfortunately I have been back and forth to the hospital each day, and did not get the opportunity to set up for TEA. I will make my rounds to the other party and just look forward to next year! BTW: I think I have a china cup from one of the royal weddings (think Victoria's grandson George -- have to look when I get back to NJ).

As always - thanks for honoring all things Victorian :-)
Have a blessed Sunday.
