Fairy Tale-Part I

Once upon a time there was a lovely cottage...
overlooking lush gardens filled with flowers...
and roses...
and shaded places for birds to be refreshed.
Inside the cottage elegance was found throughout.
For you see these people had a dream...
for Victorian splendor to the highest degree!
Alas, an historic Victorian seemed out of reach...
but this did not stop them from creating...
a Victorian home filled with love.
They were blessed with a new home and continued their vision since owning an historic home was well beyond reach...
until one day when...

Kim-

I love a good cliffhanger! Even though our house is historic (only in the sense that it's OLD and falling apart), we really have no "Victorian" architectural details to speak of. The only way I could afford such a house would be to move quite far from the city. I've come to the conclusion that you can make any home into anything you desire when you have a vision. And you certainly have done a great job in doing just that! :-)

What a blessing to live a fairy tale, not very many people can say that.

Kim,
What a great post!! It almost sounds like me writing it because i have the same dreams!

I love your home and you have created your own Victorian for you and your family.

Several years ago, I decided that in this life time, I know I will never own a Queen Anne but i could make my home reflect what I love and create my own version of my "victorian " home.

The greatest compliment people pay me when they step inside my front door is "I never thought it would look like this in here, it is like I went back in time".
Your home is gorgeous and it is your version of your Victorian life!
