Winter's Bling

Last week we had unseasonably cold temperatures dipping into the 20's.
When weather like this visits, nature's diamonds appear.
Our fountain in the backyard was still running despite the wintery blast.
Icy tendrils formed while drops of water still flowed.
A layer of sparkling ice covers the water in each bowl.
Sheets of crystal ice form as the fountain water bubbles over the top.
The following day the fountain was turned off and the full effect of Winter's bling was apparent.
Diamond-like fingers sparkle in the winter sunlight.

Icicles have formed not only from the upper edge downward but from the bottom up too!
Ice is like nature's divine display of diamonds, sparkling like crystal beneath the winter sun's beaming rays of light:).

Hi there! What glorious pictures you have taken - just amazing! Yes, they do look like diamonds. I have to say I've never seen a picture of the ice freezing upward like that - didn't know it could even do it. Wow!!

Have a Beautifully Blessed 2010...

Kim, your fountain is so pretty! I used to tell my younger sister stories about a magic place called Iceland (not the country). I thought of them when I saw your pictures.

Blessings, precious friend!

Much Love,

Andrea

How beautiful, wonderful images. Deep in the dead of summer, won't it all seem impossible?

Kim these pics are magical. I bet this is not common down there where you live and that would make it all that more special. Be warm my friend.

Kim-

What beautiful icicle photos! Don't you just love how icicles look? They truly are natures "bling." I love how they look like stalactites and stalagmites in your beautiful fountain. When we were kids, we used to throw rocks at icicles hanging off roofs and eat them like popsicles. Now that I think about it, that was a totally disgusting thing to do! Yuck!

But your pictures are gorgeous!

Mostly delightful of nature to give you such a display of ice in your fountains.
