Good Friday Tea

I invited a few friends over for tea today. The 'fee' for attending today's tea was canned goods which will be donated to our local food bank.

The menu was simple, olives, cheese, shortbread cookies, and homemade cranberry vanilla scones with homemade strawberry jam.
The tea served was Plantation Peach by American Classic Tea and Paris by Harney & Sons.
Tina getting some yummies.
The girls chatting and sipping tea.
A tea toast between friends.
Hmmm...what's this? A tea party crasher who stronlgy resembles my husband!
Yup, that's him trying to blend in as if he's just one of the tea party guests.
It was a lovely day for tea and time with good friends.
On this Good Friday may we all concentrate on the sacrifice made by our Lord.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
John 3:16-17, NIV

Thank you Kim for your very kind comment on the garden. What a lovely party. I'm boarding the plane right now with my can of chili. By the way what kind of canned good did tea party crasher bring?
Blessed Easter, June

Wow! Where do I start?

First of all, if I'd have known you'd be hosting this wonderful tea party, I'd have brought several cases of can goods just to eat some of those home made yummies you prepared! What a lovely gesture~you are so giving!

Secondly, I love how you displayed everything soooo beautiful. I love all of the china and silver, the center vignette, and I LOVE the pediments (I think that's what they are called) over your doors! You need to do a special post just on those! They are beautiful!

Thirdly, I love the planter you have in the corner of the dining room! Is it iron or wood?
YES I was being sooooo nosey snooping around, you should have never let me in! haha I love everything!

And at last, is that a sandwich and a glass of milk hubby is consuming? Tuna fish I assume??? :)

Thanks for inviting me in, I'm just like a nosey neighbor, I'm sorry!

Okay, let me save some room for some other commenters...

Kim, what a wonderful way to celebrate Good Friday, with good friends and that lovely tea/luncheon that you put on in your home. I have to work my way thru everything -
LOVE your home! It is so cozy, elegant, and has that "invite me in" feel to it! Just thru our blogs and getting to know each other a bit, I pictured you in just such a house!
The tea pots are fabulous!! I have always wanted to start a collection of vintage teapots, just never did with so many other collections coming into my home. But seeing yours makes me hunger for such a collection, to be brought out and used for tea parties!
Hearing about the vanilla scones and the homemade jam, made me want to rush right on over and join in on the fun! Delicious!! What lucky guests you had to enjoy such treats.

And I enjoyed the picture of your party crashing husband! I would say he fit in quite nicely, then after all he must have been sorely tempted by all the yummy food and the lilting sound of chattering females filling the room! :-)

Have a Happy Easter, dear friend. A trully LOVELY post this one was!!! Debby
