Spring Break!

Sorry that I have been scarce this past week but I was on spring break in Atlanta visiting family. It was a wonderful trip and of course, I am going to share it with my blogging buddies! Once I arrived and settled in we were off to do a little shopping. My very favorite place to go is Antiques in Old Town (http://antiquesinoldtown.blogspot.com)

Rowann and Hugh are two of the sweetest people and their antique shop is filled with treasures! This is just a little sneak peek of the first booth. If you would like to see more please visit their blogspot-it's well worth the visit:)
Of course, after a little shopping one needs some nourishment and the Blue Rooster is the best place to go!

The restaurant is filled with roosters and smiling faces.
Yum, it smells good in here! They make the best spiced chai! The difficulty is deciding what to have with the chai:)
Hmmm, let's see...a case full of homemade cakes and pies. Let's take a closer look.
Maybe we should look at the cookie and pastry counter before looking at the cakes.
Nope, I think we should go back to the cakes. Chocolate cake with cherries perhaps?
Or maybe lemon cake or cream pie (don't you wish you could lick the screen and taste each one)?
Then again this frosted cake looks pretty good.
Wait, I think I saw some chocolate drizzled macaroons in the other case.
Then again, maybe we should eat lunch first.
Naw!

Well this was day one. We'll visit some other places tomorrow:) I think I need to take a nap after all that food!

That lemon cake looks sooooo good. Thanks for sharing your fun day. You sound like such a fun person to go shopping with. I haven't been out browsing for antiques in so long. Maybe this summer.

PS Glad you like my poems. It's fun to share.

Well I was planning on dieting a bit this spring time and losing all the extra pounds I put on while not getting around much this winter, but....after seeing pictures of allllll those DE-LICIOUS cakes, I think I will have to make a little stop today at our own bakery and get something creamy and yummy for my sweet tooth!! Oh, that Blue Rooster cafe and bakery offers up some tempting cakes!! Wow, I really enjoyed your post!! sounds like you had a marvelous time. Isn't it nice to get out and have a "change of wallpaper" as the germans so often like to say! I look forward to seeing more posts about your little get-away. Hope all is well there with you, thinking of you from over here, Debby

Shame on you for not bringing me a piece, (no) a whole cake (or two) home! They look so yummy, I even thought I caught a whiff of the chocolate! Or was it the lemon?

Oh well, it doesn't matter as I only have your pictures to DROOL over. haha!

Can't wait to see more pretties (but I hope it doesn't consist of sweets again...that was cruel!)
