The Big Event!

Looks like Kramer is waiting for something.
Yup, the big event is here and Kramer is waiting patiently in the library for it!
I took the day off of work for this event...
but before I headed to town...
I enjoyed my morning off by strolling amongst the last of summer's roses.
With a carafe of tea and cash in hand I headed to waterfront park for the annual book sale hosted by the 'Friends of the Library.'
Thousands of books from antique to paperback on every subject imaginable are donated for the sale each year. As you can see I wasn't the only one braving the 90+ degree weather to shop for books, CD's, and DVD's (no it's not a typo-it was 90+ degrees here today)!
After a grueling morning of shopping I headed across the street to the antique shop to celebrate another big event...
Miss Jess's birthday!
Byron sings Happy Birthday to Miss Jess in English and then in French!
(Ok, just to clarify, the box on Colin's lap is not full of wine-it's filled with books-he was at the book sale too:).
Byron joins the celebration after his performance:).
After a fun filled day I returned home with my treasures.
I purchased several CD's of Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn, and the Glenn Miller Band for $1 each.
Of course, I bought lots of books!
After a busy day it's time to curl up with a glass of wine and a good book!
Now the only decision is whether to listen to Mozart or Vivaldi:).
Thanks for tagging along!

Dear sweet Kim,

Oh, that Kramer! He loves to have his photo taken, doesn't he? I always love seeing him and your sweet doggies!!! Your roses are so beautiful and the book sale and birthday celebration look like such fun! You are having the same weather we are! That is the south for you, but I would not live anywhere else!

I love the music you selected (some of my favorites) and the books you found... (more of my favorites in there). I hope you enjoyed your wine, book and music! It sounds like you had a lovely day!

Love, Paula

Boy! You had a fun day. Those pink roses look like some we had in our garden when I was growing up. They had such lovely coloring and fragrance. I will have some of those in my garden in the millennial reign of Christ.
Love the photos of Kramer as always.

Man you did hit the jackpot. I love the library book sale. Glad your roses are still nice. It has rained for 5 days here. It is so damp and molded and mildewy. I hope you have a sunny day and breezes tomorrow.
Almost forgot to say hi to Kramer.

Dearest Kim,

WHOAH! Look at those books you bought! We have been finding some marvelous books as well in our beloved Stillwater; thank you for coming. You would absolutely love the Victorian feel of the town. We used to have the best time in all of the places that we have lived, when the local libraries would host the "Buck a Bag" book event. Great finds. Have a beautiful, relaxing day enjoying your literature, family and kitty cat!! Blessings, Anita

Kim, I am soooo glad that I finally found your followers button, either I could not see it before, or it was hidden or it has been newly added. Either way, I am so glad, this way it will be easier for me to keep up on your latest posts dear friend! As for the book sale, oh what glorious fun. My mother always went to her library's sale and bought up lots of books, and never failed to find some for me too. She really knew my tastes and got me so great buys. You must have had the best fun. Just from the pictures I can see you found some wonderful books, I see at least 4 that I would have loved finding too!

Hope you have a great weekend, and lots of quiet moments to sit down and enjoy all the new "good reads". hugz, Debby

Looks like you got some great finds! Great books AND music! I love a good book sale. Your roses still look amazing! No roses left up north.

Kramer looks like he's losing some of his under-the-chair space with the overflow of books! I have so many books, I'm running out of places to stash them all.

Glad you had such a fun day!

What great photos! I just love your cat!

Hi, found my way over from Anita's. Just like you I am a kid in a candy store when it comes to books. I do plan to carve out a little time for myself and a good book today.

Happy Sunday,

Bonnie
