Enlighten Me

Crystal chandeliers, old converted oil lamps, beaded lamp shades, and vintage sconces all evoke a sense of nostalgia and elegance when lighting a home. Lighting expresses not only your mood but your taste as well. I enjoy trapsing through flea markets and tag sales looking for that diamond in the rough-a vintage lamp or chandelier in need of some TLC and still sparkling with crystal prisms or sporting its original gas switches.

Soft light sparkles through the glass prisms of this vintage chandelier.

The dining room chandelier found at a national chain store is bedecked with vintage prisms found at a yard sale.

An old vintage chandelier hangs above the kitchen table. Although not wired it works well with small tea lights to add a touch of romance.

Vintage sconces in the dining room with new glass shades and vintage prisms.

A lovely reproduction of a Victorian lamp with glass shade and beaded fringe-a great swap with a friend:)

A new light fixture glows above an antique mirror in the bathroom.

A classic chandelier (new) welcomes those who come to stay a spell in our guest bedroom.

One of a pair of vintage cherub lamps with lovely shades found at a local thrift shop.

Replica of an old gasolier lights the bathroom.

An overhead light casts a warm glow throughout the bathroom.

This vintage chandelier was found at an antique yard sale. Although it no longer sheds light it is the perfect perch for a musical cherub.

It's overcast and rainy here, but your blog post has "brightened" up my day! Thanks!

What beautiful lights you have in your home ~ the old lights are so romantic and cast such a beautiful light around the room.
