Weekend Wanderings

The weekend started with a murder mystery dinner that I did for a group on a beautiful private island.
One of the main features of the island is it's natural beauty.

The evening was set in the 1920's with dinner and a scandalous mystery to be solved.
This morning my husband and I ventured out to do a little thrifting/antiquing. This sweet little fellow, Beau, greeted us at one of the consignment shops that we visited.
Some of the treasures that we found, an antique silver sugar shaker and tea caddy.
Plenty of space for tea!
Lovely engravings on the lid.
At our next stop was the find of the day. This beautiful antique oil painting of horses in an ornate frame caught my eye. It has some damage but nothing that detracts from it's overall beauty. This great find was a mere $33!
The flowers in the garden are continuing to show their beauty in a ray of bold color.

Hope you are all having a pleasant weekend:)

Honestly, Kim...you lead such a fascinating life! You're so fortunate that your husband is a kindred spirit to you in liking to do the sort of things you do together. I love the murder mystery dinner, and I must say you look fabulous in your 1920's apparel!!! Love the sugar shaker and tea caddy too! ~Lori

What a fabulous weekend it looks like you're having! The 20's theme sounds like fun! I've always thought a murder myster dinner would be fun, but I've never been to one.

That tea caddy looks really cool!

Thanks for the sweet comment you left today on my blog post about the tatted baby booties!
Happy Mother's Day weekend! :)

A private island and a mystery, what a great combination, makes me think of Agatha Christie's - And Then There Were None - story.

Fun finds and bright and beautiful blooms!

Hello Kim,
Oh that island is beautiful. You are so lovely in that wonderful dress. How much fun that must be.
I love that painting of the horses. What a find!
I thought that it was so neat that you thought of rust the same way I do. Like wrinkles, proof of a life lived long.
Hugs, June
