Pinckney Plantation-Lavish Surroundings

Now that you have seen the plantation house let's go look at the grounds.
The house faces the water with beautiful views framed by Live Oak trees.

The house has witnessed the ebb and flow of the tide for centuries.

The house nestled amongst the trees as we head down the dock.

Off to the side a courtyard welcomes visitors to sit for a while.

Views from further down the dock.

A wine glass sparkles in the sunlight.

The sun's rays stream across the wooden plank floorboards.

An egret at marsh's edge majestically prepares for flight.

Have a seat and enjoy the views.
Of course, the views are better from this chair at the end of the dock.

That wine glass seems to be following me everywhere:).

The tide is coming in as the sun prepares its evening descent.

Marsh grasses frame the glassy water.

In the distance an Osprey nests above the still waters.

Let's go back toward the house and enjoy the view of the marsh from the yard.

Iron work on the porch.

These wicker chairs look like a nice place to rest.

Fresh flowers soften the porch's tabby walls.

Now that we've rested let's stroll through the side gardens.
View of the house from the garden.

An iron gate leads to the back garden.

One can almost imagine the lady of the manor strolling along the worn brick pathways tending to her flowers.

At the opposite end of the garden a soft glow emanates through the trees branches.

This place must be haunted because that wine glass seems to be following me where ever I go!
Thanks for visiting Pinckney Plantation with me.
Now where did that wine glass disappear to now?

Dear Kim,

Your photos are beautiful, and I enjoyed the continuation of the tour so much! Those old trees are amazing, and I love the spanish moss covering them. The lake we live by is full of Bald Cypress trees and they, too, are covered in spanish moss. It is just so southern, isn't it? :)

The views are lovely and the gardens, too! Hope you found that wine glass! ;)

Love, Paula

Kim, you've got some very nice pictures here.
I believe that sitting in one of those chairs on the porch has my vote.
AHHHHHH. Sweet.
Enjoyed this tour of the plantation.
Blessings to you,
~D~

I knew there was wine involved! I just knew those stairs would be treacherous with a glass of wine! (& a camera in the other hand! haha) I feel so much better now since we're out and about outside. If I fall, at least it will be on the fluffy grass but I know to stay away from the water! haha
Beautiful photos Kim...it felt like I were there!!!!!

Hi Kim,

Loved seeing around the Plantation, what a lovely place.
Almost seemed like I was walking there with you.

How neat that you were able to have a glass of wine out there, in such a beautiful garden.

Hugs

Hi Kim, oh I do so love it when you take us along on your travels with you and let us see the places and things that you are able to see in your area. What a great plantation to visit!! Can you imagine the lucky people that once lived there!! What elegance. I am so missing visiting here more often on your blog and saying hello to you dear friend, but once the summer is over and the hours are mine once again, I will be around more often. hope that all is well and sunny with you, thinking of you and sending a hug your way, Debby
