Summer Stroll, Part Deux

Is there anything more glorious than a summer stroll beneath moss draped oaks with the sun sparkling across the water in the distance?
Come with me, let's enjoy the sights and sounds of this beautiful day:).
View of the water at the end of the street where my friend lives.
Further down the street this ancient oak stretches its branches out towards the water.

Marble stairs to Seccession House. The Seccession papers were signed in this house before the Civil War.

Flowers are blooming outside of this cottage that houses an interior design shop.

It's a bit hot so maybe we should sit a spell and enjoy the water views.

A soft breeze billows through the marsh grasses across the glassy water.
This front porch looks welcoming. Love the red geraniums:).

This lovely lady is known for her amazing gardens.

The sun peeks through trees dappling this street in a myriad of shadowy light.

A newly constructed gate stands beside the ancient tabby wall original to the house beyond.

Down the road a bit is one of the oldest homes in town, built c. 1720.

Beyond the iron gate a moss covered walkway leads to the house and gardens.

It's good to be back to my friend's house after such a long stroll. We should sit in the kitchen and have some lemonade. The copper pots shimmer above us.

These lovely flowers add a splash of color from the gardens.

Let's see if there is anything in the pantry to nibble with our lemonade. (Yes, my friend has decorated her pantry and it is beautiful-the green glass photo a few posts back is from her pantry:).

Even the curtain tie-backs are lovely.
Thanks for taking a stroll with me! I enjoyed the company!!!
BTW, I have started a new blog about the rennovation of our bathroom. It is more text than pictures but it documents the insanity of the remodeling project. The only way to survive was to laugh at the antics and setbacks. I invite you visit at:

Kim, what a lovely stroll! Thank you so much! So much beauty to behold - I just had to take a deep breath and enjoy!

I do love your friend's pantry! I peeked at the image of green glasses in a post below. Her house just seems full of romance and cottage charm!

And, again, the pictures of the low country are amazing! For some reason, they reminded me of St. Simon's Island. Have you been there? It's one of my favorite places in the world.

Blessings to you, dear friend, and may your weekend be filled with more beauty and the presence of our Lord.
