Saturday Afternoon Antiquing

As I mentioned in my Saturday post I stopped at a favorite antique store on Hwy 17 in Charleston. Here is a sampling of the lovely things that could be found:) Roumillat's has a wide variety of antiques with friendly people to help you with your purchases (it is such a help when they empty your hands of found treasures so that you can once again fill them:) Remember-it's very imortant to support your local antique stores!

This china cabinet was filled with tea cups and saucers. I hope you can see clearly as my drool might still be on the glass door:)
For those who love blue and white china this booth was filled to the brim!

Any baby would feel like royalty in this amazing antique Victorian wicker cradle.

This booth displayed beautiful jewelry made from broken vintage china. Of course, I was drawn to the pieces with equestrian scenes. If you love china jewelry be sure to visit Joy at Cupid's Charm blogspot (listed on my favorites list below). She makes some of the most beautiful china jewelry I have ever seen!
This booth was filled with needlepoint furniture and pillows, another passion of mine. This little foot stool really caught my eye but alas I passed it up:)
This needlepoint chair was just gorgeous!
A delicate antique table with lovely needlepoint under glass. (As you can see it took me a while to remove myself from this booth. I just kept saying-step away from the needlepoint...)
A very handsome bookcase filled with antique books.

Thanks for brousing with me. I always enjoy antiquing but it's so much more fun when friends come along (unless of course those friends like the same things that I do and I have to sneak about to find the best stuff first-lol).

Oh, I love that cradle. Years ago when I myself was having babies I'm afraid I would have bought that no matter the cost. Sounds like you had a great Saturday.

I haven't been shopping for antiques in quite awhile. Sounds like a fun day and thanks for sharing the pictures of some of your favorite things. Shopping is always better with friend!

The china and jewelry would be a big draw for me. Thanks for mentioning Cupid's Charm blog, I'll check it out.

I am in LOVE with that victorian wicker baby cradle. I have never seen anything as exquisite as that before! I still have my children's brass cradle sitting in my bedroom. I love it so much, I could not bear to pack it away, even after they had long outgrown it. It was then filled with bears for a while, but now just sits empty in the room, and many times just fills up with what ever my newest project is. It is a cherished item of mine!!
