Generosity of Friends...

Shhh...the dogs are napping so I decided to do some blogging...

Of course, while the dogs are sleeping Kramer is peeking at the computer.

I think he's looking for his auntie Jodie (I wonder if this is one of Piaget's develomental cat stages? You know the cat thinks that the person is really IN the computer:).

Now on to the generosity of friendship part of the post (sorry, our furry children are blog hogs-if I do too many posts without them they wake me up an hour too early the next morning-lol).
As you know two very lovely ladies were generous enough to share their beautiful homes with me on the Victorian Beauties tour.

Last week I met a new friend at the shop who is a fellow Victorian like myself. We became friends quickly and she surprised me with the gift of this beautiful old lamp.

Another friend who is cleaning out her parents' home gave me a set of these demi cups and saucers that had belonged to her mother. She is a good friend and a regular at my tea parties and knew that I would love them.

Another friend at the shop is also cleaning out her mother's home and was kind enough to let me have these needlepoint pieces (I am learning how to needlepoint from another friend at the shop so I am finishing the pieces above as part of my learning process:).

When shopping a few weeks ago at another antique shop (also a friend) I admired this cup and saucer on the sale table; however, I decided to purcahse something else. My friend rang up my purchase and then wrapped this up as a gift.
Although the lovely things above make me think of these dear friends, it is the friendship I share with them that is the real treasure.
I feel the same about my blogging friends too. You all make me feel special, you inspire me to be a better person and to be more creative, and you make me smile!
What an amazing gift friendship is-the real treasure in life!

Dear Kim,

I always love seeing your sweet and adorable doggies and Kramer. Love the look on his face!

Oh, your gifts are so very pretty! I love the old lamp, and the demi cups and saucers are so beautiful. I know you will enjoy using those at your tea party.

The needlepoint is gorgeous! How wonderful you are learning to needlepoint and will be able to finish those pieces.

I love the sweet pink teacup and saucer with the roses. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gifts from your wonderful friends.

I totally agree with you, it is the friendship we treasure!!!! I am so thankful for my blogging friends, too, and of course that includes you! I am so glad we 'met' dear Kim!

Love, Paula

P.S. Love the quote!

Kim, you, indeed, are a true friend. The quote you shared describes you perfectly! I can always depend on your kindness and loving spirit.

Thank you for praying for me and my husband. I praise God for His divine intervention!

I love the pictures of Kramer and his friends. Adorable!

And the tea cup is so pretty! (Well-deserved, too.)

Also, I took a peek at the home tours and churches. Beautiful!!!

Take care, my sweet friend. And many, many blessings to you this Thursday!

My dogs like to sleep in the middle of the day during summer, when it's hot. They take turn laying at my feet while I write. Your dogs are so precious, as are your friends. How lovely.

It's nice to be able to share with friends, and to see someone pleased and blessed by a gift we've given.

How lovely Kim, this post is beautiful.
I love you cups and saucers and the needlepoint.
You will really enjoy working it, as there is something very theraputic about doing this.
I enjoy seeing the picture/pattern take place.
