Nice Day with My Niece!

My niece came to visit this past weekend and being the girls that we are we decided to go...
SHOPPING!
She normally shops at GW Fashions with her friends (that's their fancy name for Goodwill:).
But I decided to take her to the boutique 'thrift stores' in our area.
Lizzy was very disappointed that she was not allowed to accompany us.
Off we go on our shopping adventure!

Our first stop yielded great results. My niece found this lovely gown that fit her perfectly. Looks like the first of our many purchases!
After stopping at another thrift store we loaded our treasures in the car (I'll share those in tomorrow's post:).
With all of that shopping we were famished!
Turns out my niece loves sushi (is she cool or what:)!
So off to lunch at my favorite little sushi spot for some dead raw fish-yummm!!!
(Anyone else out there a member of the dead raw fish society-heehee)?
Now what girl can live on sushi alone? Of course we had to go downtown for some ice cream after lunch!
Now that we had shopped, eaten, and eaten some more it was time to head home but not before stopping at the video store for a movie rental.
Once at home I fixed a pot of tea (yeah, she drinks tea too-I'm tellin' ya she's a cool chic!) and off to watch our movie. What movie you ask?
Well what do you think...
'Confessions of a Shopaholic' of course!
Now it's time for something scary. This is a favorite movie of mine, 'What Lies Beneath.'
This is the ultimate haunted bathtub movie (for more about my bathtub obsession visit my other blog http://bathtubdiary.blogspot.com)
Being the typical girls that we are we had to photograph the entire day to share with our online girlfriends!
Thanks for tagging along on our shopping adventures! Come back tomorrow and I'll share my thrifting treasures:).
BTW, anyone out there a fan of sushi and if so, what is your favorite?

Dear Kim,

Your niece is a beautiful young lady! She is blessed to have you for her Aunt! I love the dress she found, it fits her perfectly and the color is lovely on her. It looks like the two of you had a wonderful day shopping and eating. What fun! Poor Lizzy, she did look awfully sad! I am sure she would have enjoyed the sushi! We loved Confessions of a Shopaholic! It was so funny and had a good ending. I love your pretty tea things.. yes your niece is a very cool chic! I look forward to seeing your finds tomorrow.

Love, Paula

How fun! You're niece is a doll. I like sushi. Don't eat the sea urchin though, a little too strange for me. My favorite is a salmon skin hand roll. Yummy! My daughter's are staying with me for two weeks, while they wait for their new apartment, we are going to have movie night too!

Kim, what a great auntie you are! Love ice cream...sushi, not so much.
I do love your choice of movies however. I wouldn't have taken you for a scary movie girl. You and I would have a great time together cause I love that movie too.
Hugs,
June

Hi Kim,

Loved hearing about your Girlies day out with your niece. She is such a sweetie and looks amazing in her new dress.
I love all types of sushi and always have it at least once a week for lunch. The icecreams look very yummy and a good way to finish off your day out.

Have a great week
Hugs
